Medical Society of Eastern Pennsylvania

The Medical Society of Eastern Pennsylvania (MSEP) is a professional organization dedicated to advancing medicine and healthcare excellence in the Philadelphia, PA region. As the Greater Philadelphia affiliate of the National Medical Association (NMA), MSEP provides comprehensive support and resources to African-American physicians and healthcare professionals. The organization focuses on raising standards within the medical profession, fostering collaborative relationships among physicians, and ensuring the prompt and equitable delivery of medical knowledge to all communities.

MSEP offers a range of professional development and networking opportunities for its members, including regular general membership meetings held at least four times annually. The organization hosts the Mercy-Douglass Lectureship, an open forum featuring distinguished speakers addressing medical concerns of national and global significance. Additionally, MSEP operates specialized programs including the McGruder-Knox Scholarship Program for medical students, the MSEP MCAT Prep Academy designed to support aspiring physicians, and the Physicians-On-Air radio program broadcast monthly on WURD-AM, where medical professionals discuss healthcare topics and specialty-specific insights.

With recognition as the 2024 Region II Society of the Year and 2024 Small Local Society of the Year at the NMA National Convention, MSEP demonstrates its commitment to excellence and community impact.
