George Edgecomb Bar Association

The George Edgecomb Bar Association is Tampa, Florida's largest predominately African-American voluntary bar association, dedicated to empowering legal professionals through comprehensive professional development and networking opportunities. Since its founding in 1982, GEBA has established itself as a cornerstone organization for advancing diversity and excellence within the legal profession. The association serves as a vital resource hub for attorneys and legal professionals seeking to advance their careers while contributing meaningfully to their community. GEBA's professional development initiatives include free Continuing Legal Education (CLE) programs, mentorship opportunities, and specialized training designed to support career advancement at every stage. The organization facilitates valuable networking connections among Tampa's leading legal professionals, creating pathways for collaboration, partnership, and professional growth. Beyond individual career development, GEBA is committed to improving the administration of justice and disseminating legal knowledge throughout the community. The association actively engages in community outreach initiatives that promote justice, equality, and educational opportunities for students across Hillsborough County. With approximately 100 dedicated members, GEBA upholds the legacy of the late Honorable George E. Edgecomb by championing the representation and success of African-American legal professionals. The organization's four foundational pillars—Professional Development, Networking, Community Outreach, and Diversity and Inclusion—guide all programs and initiatives. Whether you're seeking career advancement, professional connections, or opportunities to make a meaningful impact on the Tampa legal community, the George Edgecomb Bar Association provides the resources, mentorship, and supportive community needed to thrive.
