The Essex-Hudson Chapter of Jack & Jill of America, Inc., serving Montclair, NJ and surrounding communities, delivers comprehensive programming designed to nurture and develop African American youth ages 2-19 into future leaders. As part of the national Jack & Jill organization founded in 1938, the Essex-Hudson Chapter operates within a structured framework of five core programmatic areas: cultural awareness, educational development, health education and advocacy, civic engagement and legislative advocacy, and social and recreational activities. The chapter's 53 member families benefit from carefully curated experiences that strengthen children through leadership development opportunities, volunteer service initiatives, philanthropic giving experiences, and civic duty engagement. Since its establishment in 2006, the Essex-Hudson Chapter has distinguished itself through innovative programming and progressive approaches that create stimulating, enriching family-oriented activities.
