About Des Moines Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated
The Small but Mighty Des Moines Chapter was established in November of 1962 by 16 enterprising and dynamic mothers. The early mother members worked diligently to solidify the chapters community presence through effective programming and servant leadership. Initial chapter programming centered on strengthening community ties and outreach efforts to assist those in need in the city of Des Moines and its surrounding smaller towns.
The Des Moines Chapter remains strongly committed to making a positive and lasting Impact in our children’s lives and the lives of those within our community by exemplifying the mission and vision of Jack and Jill of America Inc. in all of the work that we do everyday.
The Des Moines Chapter was established as the 104th chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. Mrs. Margaret Emory Simms, the 7th National President, presided over the induction ceremony of the 16 charter members.
