About 100 Black Men of Greater Orlando, Inc.
100 Black Men of Greater Orlando, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to youth development and community empowerment in Orlando, FL. Since establishing operations in 1991, the organization has delivered comprehensive education enhancement initiatives and professional mentorship programs that directly support local youth achievement. The organization executes a range of impactful services including annual participation in the Orange County Teach-In, in-kind and professional mentorship to Orange County Public Schools, and support for charter schools throughout the region. 100 Black Men of Greater Orlando provides critical scholarship funding to qualifying students, with over $1,500,000 in total scholarship awards distributed to Jones High School graduates to date. Currently, the organization supports 20 students pursuing undergraduate and graduate degrees. The membership comprises accomplished professionals representing diverse sectors including business, construction, law, higher education, medicine, communications, government, architecture, and engineering. These leaders leverage their expertise to mentor young men and women, offering hands-on guidance in education, career development, and personal growth. The organization emphasizes youth mentoring through 'The 100 Way,' a mentorship model that inspires students to achieve academic excellence and develop leadership capabilities. 100 Black Men of Greater Orlando maintains affiliation as a Life Member of the NAACP and remains committed to fostering intellectual development and economic empowerment within the African-American community based on principles of respect for family, spirituality, justice, and integrity.
