About Black Feminist Project

The Black Feminist Project delivers transformative food and reproductive justice programming to Black women, girls, non-men, and the children they care for throughout the Bronx, NY community. Through dynamic and engaging direct service initiatives, the organization addresses the intersections of race, class, gender, and respectability politics while empowering participants to recognize and develop their inherent leadership abilities. The Black Feminist Project operates multiple community spaces and programs designed to serve mother-led families and marginalized genders, including the Alice Fields Community Center, Black Joy Farm, Sis, Do You!, Cardamom Thyme Cafe, and Guerilla Girls initiatives. Each program is strategically designed to restore agency, justice, joy, and health to the communities served. By centering the voices and experiences of Black women and non-men, the organization creates pathways for participants to reclaim their narratives and position themselves at the center of their own universes. The Black Feminist Project's comprehensive approach combines practical support with consciousness-raising, ensuring that participants not only access essential services but also develop the critical awareness needed to challenge systemic inequities. Based in the Bronx, the organization continues to expand its reach and impact through innovative programming that honors the revolutionary potential of Black feminist practice.
