About Baltimore Chapter, Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated
The Baltimore Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated is a membership organization dedicated to comprehensive youth development through evidence-based programming and community engagement. Serving Baltimore, MD and beyond, the chapter specializes in five core programmatic areas: leadership development, civic involvement, financial literacy, volunteer service, and health and wellness initiatives. The organization delivers the Jacqueline Moore Bowles Leadership Module, a 16-module curriculum designed to equip young people ages 2-19 with essential skills for effective leadership in a rapidly changing society. Members benefit from skill enhancement workshops, mock stock market simulations, and real-world financial training that teaches responsible money management from an early age. The Baltimore Chapter actively engages in legislative advocacy, participating in the biennial On the Hill Summit in Washington, D.C., where members and teens create awareness among Congressional leaders about issues affecting American children and families. With representation across 37 states and the District of Columbia, the organization mobilizes its network of over 40,000 family members and 10,000 active volunteers who log thousands of service hours annually. Programming includes mentoring initiatives, community beautification projects, health advocacy campaigns, and educational enrichment activities. Since its establishment in January 1945, the Baltimore Chapter has maintained a commitment to creating constructive educational, cultural, civic, health, recreational, and social programs that strengthen children and prepare them to become future leaders. The chapter's professional approach to youth development has made Jack and Jill a national model for creating effective, sustainable programming that addresses the comprehensive needs of African American youth and their families.
