African American Community Service Agency

The Black Alliance for Just Immigration (BAJI) is a national organization dedicated to advancing racial, social, and economic justice through community education, advocacy, and organizing. Based in San Jose, CA, BAJI operates local organizing committees across multiple states including California, New York, Georgia, Arizona, and Florida, with additional staff presence in Texas and Minnesota. The organization specializes in providing comprehensive training and technical assistance to partner organizations, developing leadership skills within African American and Black immigrant communities, and facilitating strategic coalitions to push for racial justice at both local and regional levels. BAJI's core services include policy advocacy, community organizing, and capacity-building support designed to address systemic discrimination and structural racism affecting communities of color. The organization also works extensively with faith communities to amplify their voices in the fight for justice and conducts vibrant community dialogues exploring critical issues including race, diverse identities, racism, migration, and globalization. A flagship initiative, the Black Immigration Network (BIN), serves as a national alliance bringing together Black-led organizations to advance just immigration policies and promote necessary cultural shifts. BAJI provides resources including published reports, community guides, and multilingual materials to support advocates and community members. Since its founding in 2006, BAJI has been instrumental in responding to immigration policy challenges and mobilizing African American and Black immigrant voices in the broader movement for equity and justice.
